Traveling with kids

These days go very quickly now… I’m not saying we won’t and we don’t, but it’s very VERY rare.

Will we go without them at times because of work? Yes.

But anything over 7 days, they’re coming along.

We took our 20 year anniversary trip without the kids and we even struggled with that one. Before that, our last trip together without them was in 2018! Maybe it’s because my husband and I were married for 8 years before we had children and we got to spend a lot of time, just the two of us. We got to do all the things we wanted to before having kids.

Is there a right or wrong way? I don’t think so.

Do we find ourselves constantly saying “Man the kids would love this.” when we vacation without them? Yes we do.

Our oldest is 13. He’s skipping a grade and high school is just around the corner and all I know is, we’ve never regretted taking those trips without them, but we sure felt sad at times we weren’t sharing it with them.
