How much does a ski trip to 🇦🇹 cost

Silvretta Montafon Ski Resort 🇦🇹

It’s crazy how much less we spent going to Austria to ski for 16 days vs our trips to the Rockies.

Here’s my tips for taking the ultimate Austrian ski holiday…

🏡Stay in Airbnbs or gasthauses that are centrally located in surrounding villages. You can find deals as low as €150 (we’ve even stayed for €125 before because we got the 7 night discount) for a two bedroom home!

✈️ Shop flights 3-4 months in advance and enter flexible date and airport searches. You can easily fly into a bordering country and be at your Austrian ski location quicker than you can cross most states.

⛷️ Lift passes- Find passes that give you access to multiple resorts and shop areas that aren’t touristy. The lesser known places offer the best deals! We love the Ski Plus City pass Stubai Innsbruck because it covers 12 resorts and lots of non ski related activities for break days. A seven day lift pass here is only €412!!!

🤯 Kids are half that and kids born 2020 and younger ski free!

🎿 Gear rental-Check to see if the rental shop offers discounts for kids who are accompanied by parents. Our favorite rental shop is Intersport. They are everywhere in Austria and kids 9 and under get free gear when parents rent skis!

🚙 Car rental- Shop different car rental companies and check on pricing daily. The rates change all the time.

🍲 Slope side eats-Eat at slope side huts over resort restaurants if you want to eat authentic meals for half the price. Many are privately owned and offer home cooked local fare.

👦ski schools- Ski schools are crazy inexpensive. We paid €105 for two full days at one resort (Muttereralm) and €90 another full day at a different resort (Schlick 2000). Some are more expensive than others. None of them are remotely as expensive as ski schools in the Rockies.
